Christmas remembered

This is us on Christmas Eve at church. Back row, Decaf Mama, T1, I, Hubby. Front row, T2, A2, V, A1. The kids were better behaved this year than last. I guess each year will get easier as they get older and more able to understand the service.

Christmas morning proved that it's not about presents at all. We have several gifts that are for the whole family from extended family (our YMCA and zoo annual memberships for example). This limits individual gifts. There was no big "wow"gift this year for anyone. We seem to be inbetween bike/scooter ages. However, everyone was estatic and great fun is still being had by all with the new items they received.

We moved quickly ahead to A2's 3rd birthday on the 29th. This event also marked the age cut-off for his early intervention services and the begining of special needs preschool. I see good things ahead as he learned several new words over his two week hiatus from therapy for the holidays.

So, now we're dipping our toes into 2010. Basketball starts soon for I and perhaps T1 (on the waiting list). Soccer will be in the spring for V and A1. Then on to summer with who know how many trips/camps/activities before fall. We've hit that age/time where Mom and Dad are going to spend lots of hours behind the wheel.

Allright Already!

I've "had" this blog for almost six months and never posted anything. I'm still thinking about what is profound enough to say. And, I'm busy, really busy. I worked outside of our home for a total of 72.5 hours each the last two weeks. Christmas is less than two weeks away and I have four gifts bought for six kids. Our tree is half decorated and there are Christmas programs to attend, cookies to make for a school party and teacher gifts to finish. But, I'm doing it. I've made my first post.
